Terms of use
Last updated:
1. Who provides the service
MapsTrack is published by 3FORTSOFT, a French SAS with a share capital of 1 500 €, 91 Route des Romains, 67200 Strasbourg, France, RCS Strasbourg 989 618 509. Contact: support@mapstrack.app. Details are in the legal notice.
2. What MapsTrack does
MapsTrack helps Street View contributors keep track of the 360° photos they publish to Google Maps. The app:
- syncs the list of your published photos and their view counts every night;
- keeps the view history and compares one period with another;
- colours in, on a map, the communes where you have published photos;
- alerts you when a photo is rejected or removed, and flags in its details a photo that stops getting views;
- in France and Belgium, suggests communes to cover near the home commune you choose.
The commune map covers 31 countries (the European Union, the European Economic Area and Switzerland); elsewhere, only the photo’s country is shown.
MapsTrack accesses your Street View account read-only. It never publishes, edits or deletes any photo.
3. Your account
You need a Google account and must be at least 15. You sign in with Google, then link your Street View account. You are responsible for how your account is used and must use your own Google account.
4. Price
MapsTrack is free. If we ever offer paid features, they will be optional and covered by separate terms, which you will accept before paying anything.
5. What you agree not to do
- get around MapsTrack’s security or access another account’s data;
- overload the service, for example with automated requests;
- use MapsTrack in a way that breaks the law or Google’s terms.
6. The figures shown
Your photos’ views and statuses come from Google. They may arrive late or change when Google corrects them. A photo’s commune is worked out from its position and from public administrative boundaries, which can contain errors. The figures are therefore indicative.
7. Availability
We do our best to keep MapsTrack running. The service depends on Google, though: if Google changes, limits or shuts down its Street View interface, some features may stop. We may also pause the service for maintenance.
8. Ownership
Your photos remain yours. MapsTrack does not copy them: it reads their details and shows their thumbnails from Google. The app, its design and its code belong to 3FORTSOFT. We grant you the right to use it for your own purposes while your account is active.
9. Liability
We are liable for direct damage caused by a failure on our part. We are not liable for Google’s decisions about your photos (rejection, removal, view counting), nor for outages of services we don’t control. Nothing in these terms limits the rights the law gives you as a consumer.
10. Ending the service
You can delete your account at any time, from the app. We may suspend an account that breaks section 5, after warning you, unless the security of the service requires urgent action. If we shut MapsTrack down, we will tell you at least 30 days in advance, then erase the data.
11. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a significant way, we will tell you in the app at least 30 days in advance. If you disagree, you can delete your account before that date.
12. Google
MapsTrack is not affiliated with or endorsed by Google. Your photos remain subject to the Google Maps and Street View terms.
13. Disputes
These terms are governed by French law. If something goes wrong, write to us first at support@mapstrack.app. If we can’t find a solution, you can refer the matter free of charge to the consumer mediator CM2C (cm2c.net) or to the competent court. If you are a consumer in another EU country, you keep the protection of your country’s mandatory rules and can go to the courts where you live.
